It's that time of year again, when Australian tech journalists and fellow geeks set their alarms for some ungodly hour of the morning to watch Apple announce its next round of iPhone and Apple Watch products.

This year, the event is scheduled to happen at 3am on Tuesday September 10, AEST.

So, what can we expect?

The invitation itself doesn't say much. The use of "Glowtime" is a clear reference to the updated Siri that was announced at WWDC, which will arrive with iOS 18.

New iPhones, obviously. The iPhone 16 is rumoured to come with a dedicated shutter button like an old fashioned digital camera, so you can half press to focus and full press to shoot.

Also expect updates to the Apple Watch, which should see its 10th generation announced, as well as the Apple Watch Ultra.

And as with any Apple event, there's a chance for other product announcements as well. Will we see new AirPods? New Macbooks? New HomePods? Who knows? You'll have to tune in to find out.

The event will stream live on Apple.com. If I can drag myself out of bed, I may even try and liveblog the thing like the good old days...
