Aqara's latest products will help your smart home be smarter than ever

Aqara may be a newer name in smart home products in Australia, but its latest range of products promise to actually help turn your home into the automated smart home you've dreamed of.
It's one of the biggest challenges I've had with smart home products: the whole solution isn't yet seamless. Aqara's new products seem to take a unique approach to help solve that problem.
There are four new products being added to the lineup. Let's take a look at them one at a time, shall we?
Presence Sensor FP2
Let's start with the new Presence Sensor FP2. It uses millimetre-wave radar technology to detect up to five people in rooms up to 40m².
That's all well and good, but so what? The key inclusion here is that you can use the Aqara app to set zones within a room. That means you can set automations for different areas and situations.
For example, if you sit on the lounge? Turn down the lights, turn on the TV and prepare the room for movie time. Two or more people sit at the dining table? Then let's turn up the dining room lights and pop on a gentle music playlist.
It also features fall detection, so you can set it up to be alerted when elderly relatives or children fall over.
The Presence Sensor FP2 will set you back $197.99.
Aqara Doorbell G4
Aqara has added a wide range of features here to help it take on the likes of the Ring Video Doorbell 4.
The doorbell can be set up to work either wired or with battery power, and is the first battery-powered video doorbell to work with Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video.
The Doorbell G4 intelligently offers a level of local software features, like facial recognition. It can rapidly detect a face, even when the Internet is disrupted, and users can receive push notifications through the app or set unique automations based on the person's identity.
The doorbell itself boasts a 162° super wide-angle field of view and records 1080p HD video. The chime is included in the price and can locally store video on a MicroSD card.

Smart Lock U100
Don't you just love the idea of ditching the keys and using a smart lock to keep your front door secure.
The U100 supports Apple Home and Home Key so you can unlock the door with your Apple Watch. You can also use fingerprints or keypad unlocking, while still maintaining your home's security.
You get eight months of battery life and a IP65 waterproof rating, so the U100 is robust enough for any weather conditions.
And if you're worried about what happens when the batteries run out, you can connect the USB-C externally for temporary power unlocking or use a mechanical key for traditional unlocking.
The Smart Lock U100 will set you back $499.99.
Door and Window Sensor P2
With native Matter support, the Door and Window Sensor P2 offers compatibility across apps and platforms.
It's a pretty basic device otherwise, allowing you to monitor the open and closed status of doors and windows, and use that information to automate other devices.
It will set you back $59.
