With the launch of Max I wanted one thing: Easy access to the Arrowverse

I signed up to Max this week to see if I could easily watch last decade's connected DC shows. The answer is "not really".

Getting ready to watch Arrow on Max

Last decade, as Marvel was connecting its MCU in the build up to Infinity War and Warner Bros was doing a poor imitation with its connected Justice League movies, DC created a surprisingly awesome interconnected universe on the small screen.

The "Arrowverse" involved a number of different programs, all telling their own stories, yet peppered with cameos of characters across programs. Starting with Arrow, and then expanding to The Flash, Supergirl, Constantine, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, Batwoman, Stargirl and Superman & Lois, the "Arrowverse" ran for 12 years across the different shows.

What made these shows special was the cross-program storylines. Starting from the first season of The Flash, each year would see a story start on one program, before jumping to the next show. If you weren't watching all the shows in the right order, you would miss the resolution of what was going on.
