Here are the laptops ASUS announced at CES

ASUS has announced a range of CoPilot+ PCs and new gaming machines under its ROG brand at CES. Here are the key products' details.

This week started off so well. I was energised, excited for the coverage coming out of Vegas for CES. But it quickly got overwhelming – I don't have a team of writers to help me cover all the news being announced.

Computers is probably the most boring area I cover at BTTR. I just can't seem to get interested by an incremental specs upgrade to a laptop, whose fundamental design really hasn't changed since I started writing about tech over 20 years ago.

But there was a lot announced this week, so here's a quick summary of what came from ASUS at CES this week.

  • Zenbook A14: CoPilot+ | Snapdragon X | WUXGA OLED display | Up to 32GB RAM | Up to 1TB SSD | Wi-Fi 6E | Qualcomm Adreno graphics
  • Vivobook 14: Copilot+ | Snapdragon X | WUXGA IPS display | Up to 16GB RAM | Up to 1TB SSD | Wi-Fi 6E | Qualcomm Adreno graphics
  • Vivobook 16: Copilot+ | Snapdragon X | WUXGA IPS display | Up to 16GB RAM | Up to 1TB SSD | Wi-Fi 6E | Qualcomm Adreno graphics
  • ROG Strix SCAR 16: Intel Core Ultra or AMD Ryzen 9 | WQXGA Mini-LED display | Up to 64GB RAM | Up to 4TB SSD | Wi-Fi 7 | Up to GeForce RTX 5090 graphics
  • ROG Strix SCAR 18: Intel Core Ultra or AMD Ryzen 9 | WQXGA Mini-LED display | Up to 64GB RAM | Up to 4TB SSD | Wi-Fi 7 | Up to GeForce RTX 5090 graphics
  • ROG Strix G16: AMD Ryzen 9 | WQXGA Mini-LED display | Up to 32GB RAM | Up to 2TB SSD | Wi-Fi 7 | Up to GeForce RTX 5090 graphics
  • ROG Strix G18: AMD Ryzen 9 | WQXGA Mini-LED display | Up to 32GB RAM | Up to 2TB SSD | Wi-Fi 7 | Up to GeForce RTX 5090 graphics
  • ROG Flow Z13: AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 | WQXGA IPS display | Up to 128GB RAM | Up to 1TB SSD | Wi-Fi 7
  • ROG Zephyrus G14: AMD Ryzen AI HX370 | OLED display | Up to 32GB RAM | Up to 2TB SSD | Wi-Fi 7 | Up to GeForce RTX 5080 graphics

The Zenbook A14 seems interesting – weighing in less than a kilo and offering up to 32 hours of battery life.

But the whole CoPilot+ thing makes me cringe. I don't want it, at all, and the fact it's baked into the operating system with no way to turn it off, unlike Apple Intelligence.

Pricing and availability

It's also not clear exactly when we'll see these models arrive in Australia. It probably won't be too far away if previous years are any indication.
