With double the battery, double the bass, and double the tweeters, the BlueAnt X5i looks to be twice the party speaker of its predecessor.

Aussie audio company BlueAnt is on a bit of a roll this year. After the success of the SoundBlade, the company has just updated its X5 party speaker, delivering big improvements to both audio and battery performance.

The new X5i party speaker doubles the power to a whopping 120W of peak bass output, with two 58mm tweeters, a 165mm Bass driver and a Bass Reflex Tube for superior music playback.

According to BlueAnt CEO Taisen Maddern, the speaker was designed to offer impressive playback across all music types.

“It’s been engineered for all audio forms; from punk to pop, from metal to melodic and even podcasts, we’ve ensured audio is the king with the X5i,” said Maddern.

“But the experience across the board, from the lighting to the battery, makes this the one-stop speaker for all occasions. It makes the music feel live and helps create life’s memorable moments.”

On the lighting front, BlueAnt's engineers have added additional edge lighting and seven beat-driven modes to enhance the music playback and light up the room.

The speaker also comes with two wireless microphones which offer 50+ hours of play time and can be charged from the speaker itself.

To keep things pumping, BlueAnt has doubled the battery life in the X5i compared to the X5, with a huge 20,800 mAh battery capacity. BlueAnt says that should keep the music going for up to 30 hours at 50% volume or seven hours at full volume.

The speaker weighs 4.8kg, and can be paired with a second X5i for stereo playback.

There's a built in phone/tablet holder, and the speaker supports Bluetooth audio, auxiliary in and USB playback modes.
