The Espresso 15 Touch is an exceptional piece of hardware that makes it easy to enjoy a superior work environment from anywhere. But not everyone needs a 15-inch touchscreen.

So it's no surprise that Espresso has opted to launch a more affordable non-touch model. The Espresso Display 15 offers a 15.6-inch 1080p display with a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 nits of brightness and 16.8 million colours.

Measuring just 5.3 mm thick, 358 mm long and 256 mm wide, the Display 15 weighs just 865 grams. It's powered by a USB-C cable, and can draw its power from your laptop easily enough, though you may need a secondary power source if your original device (like a Nintendo Switch) doesn't offer enough juice.

Compared to the 15 Touch, the biggest difference is the lack of a touchscreen. In the months since I first reviewed the Touch 15, I've found I barely use the touchscreen at all, so having a more affordable entry point makes a lot of sense.

Standing in

Launching alongside the Display 15 is an improved version of the Stand. It will come bundled with all purchases of the Display 15 as well.

Essentially, the Stand 15 looks similar to the original Stand, which opens up and magnetically attaches to the screen, adjusting slightly to give you an improved viewing angle.

The Stand+ adds an additional elevated stand position, so you can find a more natural viewing position, in particular letting you place the Esresso display above the laptop display for a vertical dual screen alignment.

The Stand+ is backwards compatible as well, if you already own a Touch model.

Gliding along

To help take advantage of your portable monitor, Espresso has also updated its multi-screen management software, Espresso Flow.

Thanks to a new feature dubbed Glide, you can simply push your cursor to the side of your screen to adjust their display arrangement.

This is particularly useful for travellers who need to set up in different positions all the time.

Pricing and availability

espresso Display 15 will be bundled with Stand+ and on sale from November 5 and start shipping to customers globally in late November.

The Display 15 (bundled with Stand+) will sell for $499 RRP, while the Stand+ on its own will cost $99.
