Hisense has a new 136-inch TV that's over 3.5 metres wide
At CES, Hisense unveiled its latest lineup of big screen TVs, including a monster set that's over 3.5 metres wide with a 136-inch panel. You may need a bigger house.
For the past couple of years, TV manufacturers have been living by the mantra that bigger is better. Well, Hisense just lifted its game in that department, revealing a whopping 136-inch Micro-LED TV at CES this week, and it's a beast.
It also may not end up coming to Australia. Aside from a short paragraph on its behemoth size, Hisense doesn't mention the 136MX in its list of products destined for our shores. Instead, we will get to enjoy the 116-inch TriChroma Mini-LED TV.
The 2025 generation of Hisense's ULED X TV, which topped out at 110 inches, Hisense has pushed the engineers to release a 116-inch version this year.
Almost 3 metres on the diagonal, the 4K anti-glare LCD uses 21,000 TriChroma LEDs to produce peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits. It supports Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced content, and boasts an integrated 6.2.2 sound system (though you should still use a soundbar.)
"As leaders in big-screen TV, our 116-inch TriChroma LED TV epitomises the next step in our pursuit of the ultimate home entertainment experience. We continue to see strong demand for big-screen viewing in Australia, demonstrating our desire to experience sports, gaming and entertainment in a premium setting from the comfort of our own homes. The 116-inch TriChroma LED TV answers this need with a world-class and category-defining solution.”

Alongside its ultra-large panels, Hisense also unveiled its updates to the rest of its 2025 lineup.
Its U8 series will see a new 100-inch offering in addition to the 55-85 inch range, plus an improvement to peak brightness up to 5,000 nits, up from 2,000 nits in 2024's range.
There are 500+ more local dimming zones as well for a better lighting across the whole scene, and gamers will appreciate the 165Hz capabilities of the Game Ultra Mode.
The 2025 U7 models improve on the 2024 Hisense U7 TVs with the addition of a 100-inch version, plus improvements of peak brightness up to 2,000 nits and the addition of Game Mode Ultra for 165Hz refresh rates during gaming.
The U6 models have received the biggest update this year, with a range of improvements including QLED Quantum Dot technologies and Dolby Vision iQ certification. It also sees a refresh rate boost for gamers, up to 144Hz (from 60Hz in 2024's models).
Hisense also plans to add a 75-inch model to its Canvas TV range this year.
AI everywhere
While Hisense hasn't made AI as big a focus as either Samsung or LG this year, the technology is still there, enabled by the company's Hi-View Engine chipset. It comes in four flavours, reflecting the different job it tries to take on:
- AI Picture – Elevating content on the screen through AI upscaling and picture adjustment features
- AI Sound – Fitting sound to the room through area-scanning/recognition features and sound output optimisation
- AI Scenario – Intelligently recognising content on-screen and optimising static (scoreboards) and dynamic components (athletes) of entertainment accordingly
- AI Energy – Optimising and adjusting the display to minimise power requirements
Better sound
No matter how much AI is running, flat panel TVs never sound amazing, so it's not a surprise Hisense has added two new sound solutions to the range.
The HT Saturn includes four wireless satellite speakers and a standalone 6.5-inch subwoofer, which lets you set it up to your environment easily. It offers a 4.1.2, 13 speaker arrangement, and supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
The AX514OQ is a more straightforward soundbar offering, with a 5.1.4 solution that can be paired with a 2025 Hisense TV to use both the soundbar and the TV's speakers for a more immersive sound experience.
Pricing and availability
Hisense's 2025 Home Entertainment range will feature the 116-inch TriChroma LED TV, U8QAU, U7QAU and U6QAU, as well as the HT Saturn and AX5140Q. This is in addition to the Laser projectors unveiled earlier this week.
Further information on Hisense’s full 2025 TV and soundbar range, including pricing, will be shared soon, so until then we'll just have to patiently wait (and hope that Hisense decides to bring the 136 TV to Australia as well).
