I really thought Motorola was done announcing new phones for 2024, but I was wrong. Just a couple of weeks after the arrival of the Razr 50, Motorola has announced the arrival of the Moto G55 5G and the Moto G76 5G moto buds Edition.
Being part of the G series of Motorola devices means they are definitely targeting the best budget smartphone market, with prices for both phones coming in under $500.
Let's take a closer look at what Motorola has launched, shall we?
Moto G55 5G
The successor to last year's impressive G54 5G, the G55 5G rocks a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It's powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 processor and offers 4 GB RAM on board, which can be doubled to 8 GB with virtual RAM.
You get 128 GB of on-board storage and 5G support, with a 5,000 mAh battery and 30W fast charging.
On the back of the Moto G55 is a 50MP wide-angle camera with Quad Pixel and autofocus technology, plus an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The selfie camera is a 16MP sensor
Moto G75 5G Moto Buds Edition
As the name suggests, the new G75 comes with a pair of Starlight Blue moto buds in the box for added value.
Motorola has gone done a slightly more rugged path for the G75. Engineered to meet the MIL-STD-810H military standard, the G75 can supposedly withstand drops of up to 1.2 metres, plus extreme weather conditions.
It features Corning's Gorilla Glass 5, is rated to IP68 for dust and water immersion and is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 mobile platform.
With 5G and Wi-Fi 6/6E compatibility, the G75 promises strong performance for a budget handset.
It comes with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB of storage, and boasts a 6.8-inch FHD+ display, a 5,000 mAh battery and support for 30W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. It has the same camera array as the G55.
The G75 comes with five years of guaranteed OS updates and six years of security updates, which places it among the best Motorola phones in Australia.
