Amazon is expanding its range of Alexa-enabled devices in Australia today with the launch of two new Echo products.

The latest additions include the Echo Pop, a compact smart speaker, and the second generation of Echo Auto, bringing Alexa's smart features to cars.

The Echo Pop is a unique addition to the Echo lineup, featuring a semi-sphere form factor. Priced at AU$79, it offers a quality audio experience and comes in four color options: Lavender Bloom, Midnight Teal, Charcoal, and Glacier White.

The device features a front-facing directional speaker, making it suitable for bedrooms, apartments, or small spaces. Users can effortlessly control music, audiobooks, calendars, and compatible smart home devices using voice commands with Alexa.

Amazon is also launching a range of accessories to customise the Echo Pop. Users can personalise their device with silicone sleeves in seven colours, including a glow-in-the-dark option.

Additionally, a shelf wall mount and various bases, such as a USB charging base and a battery base, provide flexible positioning and power options.

Alexa on the road (again)

For users who want Alexa on the go, Amazon is hoping that the Echo Auto (2nd Gen) is the ideal solution.

Priced at AU$99, it offers hands-free access to Alexa features in cars without built-in AI support. The new model features a slimmer design and an adhesive mount for easy placement.

With five microphones, it ensures clear voice recognition even in noisy car environments.

Users can listen to music, make calls, access news and podcasts, manage calendars, and control compatible smart home devices, all while focusing on the road.

Amazon's new Echo devices are now available for pre-order from Amazon (unsurprisingly) and will begin shipping from May 31.

The products will also be available at JB Hi-Fi and other leading retailers.
