Ring has been rolling out the pro-level technology to its home security cameras like the Ring Stick Up Cam Pro. So it's no surprise the new battery powered video doorbell from Ring offers the same 3D Motion Detection and Bird's Eye View technology.

Dubbed the Ring Battery Video Doorbell Pro, the new home security camera is designed to give best in class motion alerts and performance at your home.

While Ring has offered Pro-level features in a video doorbell in the past, this is the first version that runs on battery power, making it easy to self-install and keep running over time. That said, you can wire it up if you want that peace of mind.

“In 2021, we announced the first doorbell to our Pro line of devices, packed with radar-technology to help improve the accuracy of outdoor motion alerts," said Mark Fletcher, Ring Managing Director, APAC.

"Since then, we’ve continued to hear from customers how much they love having more precise motion detection. With Ring Battery Video Doorbell Pro we’re giving customers access to our most advanced motion detection technology yet, all with the convenience of being battery-powered.”

On the specs front, the new doorbell offers 1536p HD video, with colour night vision that can supposedly use even the slightest amount of ambient light from a street lamp or landscape lighting to deliver coloured nighttime footage.

The doorbell supports two-way talk with noise cancelling technology for crystal clear conversations, while the integrated radar sensor allows for the advanced 3D motion detection.

Like all Ring cameras, to get the full suite of features you'll need to have a Ring Protect subscription, which will be an ongoing cost for the camera. Also worth flagging that when we reviewed the Ring Video Doorbell 4, that subscription didn't just transition to the newer device.
