The next version of Oppo's Reno family of smartphones has officially launched in Australia. The Oppo Reno10 5G is available now at a $749 RRP, and is built around the impressively specced 32MP telephoto portrait camera.

Measuring just 7.99mm thick and weighing just 185 grams, the Reno10 is sleeky designed with a micro-curved body that makes the phone look even thinner than it is.

The 6.7-inch screen fills a remarkable 93% of the body, with the side bezels measuring just 1.57mm and the lower bezel just 2.32mm.

It also boasts a 120Hz refresh rate to keep all your videos running super-smoothly, while being capable of showcasing one billion colours.

All about the camera

While the body and screen are nice, it's the camera that really stands out here. The main camera is a 64-megapixel snapper on a 1/2-inch sensor.

The 32-megapixel portrait camera, meanwhile, is powered by a Sony IMX709 RGBW sensor. While that may look like a random array of numbers and letters, the end result is a camera that can take impressive portrait shots at a 47mm focal length.

The Sony sensor also is impressive in lower-light situations, meaning you can take high-quality portraits even when the lighting may not be ideal.

Battery life and performance

The new Reno10 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 system on a chip, and comes eith 8GB RAM and 256GB of on board storage.

You can also add in external storage of up to 1TB, which Oppo can temporarily convert into up to 8GB of extra RAM.

The phone boasts a large 5,000mAh battery, and comes with Oppo's ridiculously high-performing SUPERVOOC Flash Charge, which will take the phone to 100% in about 47 minutes.

Pricing and availability

The Oppo Reno10 5G is available now from JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks and Oppo's online store.

You can pick it up in Ice blue or Silvery Grey for an RRP of $749.

Whether it lives up to the spec sheet and makes the list of the best Oppo phones in Australia is yet to be seen.
