The next bunch of OPPO smartphones are due to drop in July, and the company has just outlined what we can expect.

The Reno12 and Reno12 Pro are both powered by the new 4 nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy mobile platform, and offer OPPO's 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging capability. They both come with a 6.7-inch 120 Hz OLED display that can show up to 1.07 billion colours.

The main difference between the Reno12 and the Reno12 Pro appears to be the camera array. The Main Camera of both models boasts a Sony LYT-600 sensor for faster and more stable focusing.

The Reno12 Pro also features a 50MP Telephoto Portrait Camera offering up to 2x optical zoom and a new 50MP Selfie Camera with advanced AI Portrait Retouching effects.

Both devices also come with OPPO's generative AI functions. Mostly it's about editing photos, like reopening eyes for people who blink in group photos, or removing unwanted objects. But there's also a function to create digital avatars from photos, which is surely exciting to someone, somewhere.

OPPO Watch X also coming, powered by WearOS

Alongside the new handsets, OPPO has also announced its new wearable, the Watch X.

It boasts a 466 x 466 pixel 1.43-inch AMOLED display, tracks over 100 activities plus sleep, and offers heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring.

Its biggest selling point is the promised 100 hours of battery life from the 500 mAh battery, or up to 12 days of battery in power save mode. And because it has OPPO's VOOC charging built in, it can be fully charged in an hour, or give you an extra day after just 10 minutes.

To accomplish this OPPO has included to separate chipsets into the watch. The Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip and the BES2700 MCU.

It's also rated for IP68 dust and water, plus 5ATM water resistance, meaning it can withstand depths of up to 50 metres. It has passed the MIL-STD-810H US military standard as well.
