Christmas may be done for 2023, but the gifts keep on coming. Samsung has announced it will be unveiling its next Galaxy smartphones on January 17 at Unpacked in San Jose, which works out to be 5am on January 18 here on the East Coast of Australia (AEDT, to be precise).

Samsung promises the new devices "will set a higher standard for our most intelligent mobile experience yet."

While new Galaxy S smartphones are undoubtedly going to be unveiled (or unpacked) at the event, the real hero of the event is likely to be "Galaxy AI".

Given just how much impact "AI" had in the technology world last year, it's no surprise to see Samsung leading its next smartphone launch with its own iteration of smartphone AI.

Pre-order sweetener

Samsung seems pretty confident that its 2024 Galaxy S smartphones are going to fly off shelves. But to help things along, it has already kicked off a pre-order bonus.

Simply head to the Samsung Unpacked website, register your details and answer a short survey, and you can receive a $200 voucher to spend on various Galaxy gear when you buy a Galaxy device unveiled at Unpacked.

As for the event itself, it will be streamed live on Samsung.com/auSamsung Newsroom, and Samsung’s YouTube channel beginning at 5 a.m. AEDT on January 18.
