It's not a smartwatch. Really.

Ever since Google bought Fitbit, fitness trackers have become much less of a thing. Everybody seems to be launching smartwatches instead of fitness trackers, with apps and ecosystems and AI (oh my!).

Samsung likes to have a product in every category though, so it's keeping the fitness tracker dream alive with the launch of the Galaxy Fit3.

Sure, it looks like a narrow smartwatch. But the Fit3 is designed to track fitness first, despite its 1.6-inch display that's 45% wider than the Fit2.

Despite that extra real estate, the Fit3 still offers up to 13 days of battery life. It can track over 100 different types of workouts, and will track sleep patterns, blood oxygen levels and even detect snoring.

On the safety front you get fall detection and the ability to send an SOS message immediately by pressing the side buttons five times.

Samsung likes all its devices to play nice together, so it's no surprise you can also use the Fit3 to remotely control your Galaxy phone's shutter button, and find your phone from the wearable as well.
