Shark's new fan is a battery-powered saviour in Summer

The Bureau of Meteorology is suggesting this Summer is going to be a bit of a wet, warm season.

To help manage those conditions, Shark has launched its first fan product in Australia, the FlexBreeze Fan.

It looks a bit like the AcerPure Cozy fan I reviewed earlier this year, except in a stylish dark grey with rose gold accent colour scheme.

It's also got an integrated battery, which makes it a lot more versatile than the AcerPure model. Shark promises up to 24 hours of battery life from a single charge, which means this can not only help you keep cools indoors, but also works well on your patio as well.

When the battery does run dry – or you just want to guarantee power, the FlexBreeze Fan has a 4.5 metre power cable to help you set it up anywhere it's needed.

The fan has been designed to be portable and rain resistant, so you can take it with you to sporting matches or even the beach (though I don't know just how "sand resistant" it might be).

The fan does come with a cover and a remote, and can switch between a tabletop and pedestal mode quickly and easily. There are three fan speeds, which you control on the fan head or the remote, and a dedicated "BreezeBoost" mode that blows air that can be felt up to 20 metres away.

If you wanted to up your fan game a little bit, Shark has also launched a version of the fan with a misting attachment. You attach this attachment to the front of the fan and then connect it to a hose, and the FlexBreeze Fan will spray a gentle mist that Shark claims can reduce temperatures to feel up to five degrees cooler.
