I was a big fan of the Shokz OpenFit when I reviewed them a few months back, and now there's a lower-cost sequel.

The OpenFit Air follow the same fundamental design as the original OpenFit, but with a few minor differences. Most notably, the earhook has been redesigned, with a gap to really sell that Air branding.

You get six hours of playback with the OpenFit Air (up to 28 hours with the case), plus IP54 dust and water resistance. Each earbud only weighs 8.7 grams, so you'll practically forget they are there.

Alongside the OpenFit Air, Shokz has also announced its latest underwater headphones, the OpenSwim Pro.

Rated at IP68, users can swim in depths of up to two metres while listening to music, either via Bluetooth or from the 32GB of inbuilt storage.

Pricing and availability

The Shokz OpenFit Air are available now in Black, White and Pink colours, for an RRP of $199. You can pick them up from Shokz directly, Amazon, JB Hi-Fi and other retailers.

The OpenSwim Pro, meanwhile, will launch in Grey and Red from July 5 from Shokz, Amazon, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and other leading retailers.
