I cannot get my head around ASUS' naming conventions. The PC company has just launched its first CoPilot+ computer powered by the Snapdragon X Elite platform, and it is called the Vivobook S 15.

But that's essentially the same name as the last ASUS laptop I reviewed, the Vivobook S15 OLED BAPE Edition.

I'm sure there's a reason for it. But this post isn't about me getting confused. It's about the new ASUS CoPilot+ laptop.

Features and highlights

The Vivobook S 15 boasts a 3K 120Hz 15.6-inch OLED display, with an 89% screen to body ratio and Harman Kardon speakers.

It's just 14.7 mm thin and weighs just 1.42 kg, making it a solid portable option.

There's a 70Wh battery inside, which coupled with the Snapdragon processor promises MacBook-level battery life. There's 1TB of storage

Like all CoPilot+ PCs, there's a dedicated button to open up the Windows AI, though you won't see the advertised Recall feature for a little while (thankfully).

ASUS has also packed in some of its own AI tools, which I can't be bothered rewriting so copy/pasted from the press release:

• ASUS StoryCube: An AI-powered digital asset-management tool, which can automatically organise photos and videos. 
• ASUS AI Noise Cancellation:  This leverages a deep-learning database to reduce background noise in meetings and calls, for clear audio.
• ASUS Adaptive Dimming: A technology that recognises when a user looks away and dims the screen, which helps to maintain power consumption. 
• ASUS Adaptive Lock: With this feature, the laptop will be automatically locked when the user moves away and unlocked when they return, helping to ensure greater security.

Pricing and availability

The laptop is available now from ASUS's online web store, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, and Officeworks.

The Vivobook S15 OLED has an RRP of $2,699.
