Watch this: Remembering Kotaku AU
The Junglist pulls together previous editors for an insightful discussion into the Australian gaming media icon.
When Pedestrian (or parent company Nine) announced it was going to cease publication of what had been the Allure Media titles Kotaku, Gizmodo and Lifehacker, I felt like a part of me died inside.
I was the second editor at Gizmodo Australia, taking on the role from Seamus less than a year after launch. It was a defining moment in my career, where I learnt so much. It also overlapped with so many milestones in my life – I got married a couple of months after starting the role, and was writing for Giz when both my kids were born.
Jeremy Ray, aka The Junglist, has pulled together a bunch of previous Kotaku Australia editors and publishers for a conversation about the site. It's a look behind the curtain, and it's both entertaining and thought provoking.
If you have any interest in what's going on in the Australian media industry right now, it's essential viewing.
