It's only a concept, but the Withings OMNIA looks like smart scales on steroids
Withings has revealed its conceptual OMNIA interactive personal health device at CES for comprehensive health management.
I love futuristic product concepts, even when they never become proper products. The Withings OMNIA is, in many ways, absurd in its size and bulk as a way of tracking your personal health.
But it looks cool! And futuristic! It takes a lot of the information collected by devices like the Withings Body Scan, the Sleep Analyser, its Blood Pressure Monitor and its wearables like the ScanWatch Nova, and it combines it with its own scans and displays it on a sleek, mirrored interface, complete with a 3D body model.
Having all that data available at eye level in a single view gives a unique way to understand your individual health – the Withings Body Scan, which collects a lot of the data on its own, only has a small screen that cycles through the information as it scans.
Even the Withings app requires a few presses to really dive into the details of how your health is tracking.
Withings didn't stop with just a big mirror screen and an advanced set of scales with the OMNIA though. It's 2025, so there's an AI vocal companion on board, which is a "friendly, empathetic voice assistant offering real-time feedback, answers to questions, motivation and guidance".
This could be the biggest advantage of a device like the OMNIA, if they can ever get it to retail. Withings collects a lot of data, but understanding how to use it to become healthier is typically too confusing.
“Omnia embodies Withings' vision of the future, highlighting the interconnected nature of health and making the invisible visible to help individuals transform the way they manage their personal health."
“By seamlessly analysing a wide array of vital health parameters, OMNIA provides an unparalleled understanding of how the body’s systems interact. This holistic perspective enables users to proactively maintain their health while identifying subtle anomalies early, often before they escalate into larger concerns. At Withings, we believe empowering individuals with such insights is key to fostering longer, healthier lives. With OMNIA, we’re not just monitoring health—we’re giving people the tools to shape it.”
– Eric Carreel, Founder and President of Withings.
Pricing and availability
The OMNIA is a concept, so it's likely never going to be available at retail, no matter how cool it is. Withings has said that some of the features, like clinician reviews and AI guidance, will come to the Withings app this year.
